What is LASIK?

LASIK is an outpatient surgical procedure that can correct myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. LASIK surgeons use computerized measurements, a microsurgical instrument and a laser to reshape the cornea (clear covering of the eye), improving the way the eye focuses light rays on the retina.
